Wedding Planning?! Let's Make it Less Stressful.

So you got engaged, and you feel like you are on top of the world. You are ecstatic, happy, and might even say glowing. Then reality kicks in... you have to plan a wedding! You feel like suddenly you can not arrange a whole wedding while still having to work (and other commitments.) Don't worry because I will be giving you some tips on how to make it less stressful.

All links in this blog will not cost you extra. This goes to support my blog and Etsy shop. Thanks!

  1. Having a planner. This could mean hiring someone to help you plan or having a written timeline! While it would be very nice to have someone planning most of your wedding for you, many don't have the budget or do not see the point of hiring someone, especially if the wedding will be intimate. This link to my Etsy shop contains a variety of wedding planners to wedding signs. They are also 100% customizable. www.esty.com/shop/TheMariPerspective

  2. Following your timeline. Now that you have your timeline set follow through with it. If you are too busy to complete a month, have someone you trust to do some tasks for you, whether calling vendors to get prices or setting up appointments. Even the tiny things they do will feel like you had 10 pounds taken off your shoulders.

  3. Having a color theme. As most of us already have a dream wedding planned, we already have colors in mind. Tell your vendors of color palettes you would love to have and see if they can accommodate you. This goes from florals to decor to bridesmaid dresses!

  4. Attire and Guests This might be the most challenging part someone can go through. Here are some questions that you can start asking yourself. Do you want bridesmaids and groomsmen? How many? How many guests do you want at your wedding? How about people that should not be at your wedding? Seating arrangements? Do they really need to be done, or can your guest figure out where to sit if they don't want to sit next to someone? This can be a huge cost because buying all the attire for the bridesmaid, groomsmen, groom, and bride will be huge spending. Even with guests, the bigger the wedding, the bigger the venue, costing a lot more money.

  5. Travel Wedding Do you want a destination wedding? Considering that people may not want to travel far from their homes can help you decide who you want at your wedding. Do you want your uncle, who you have not seen in years, to you to your wedding, knowing that he might complain about traveling? Perhaps not. For all other guests, will you be paying for travel and accommodations? What are you willing to pay for?

  6. Setting Boundaries This might be very difficult, but having boundaries during wedding planning and your wedding will create a less stressful environment. You may have to go out less to delegate some time to wedding planning and appointments. Having people who understand this will be so relieving.

  7. Remember to breathe! It's okay if you need to take a break from planning. As mentioned before, you can delegate some assignments to people you trust! It is also okay if it takes you two years to plan a wedding. Your wedding is an extraordinary time; you want to be happy about it and present in the moment. Don't let others pressure you into having a wedding quickly.
